What is Hatha – Vinyasa Flow Yoga?

The practice of Hatha Yoga can help you recognize your hidden physical and mental potentials. Through the continued performance of asanas, or yoga poses, you will gain flexibility and strength and learn to be more relaxed under otherwise stressful situations. Hatha Yoga’s Relaxation Exercises will open the energy channels, which in turn allows energy to flow freely. Hatha Yoga can also help you cope with stress, relieve tension, and deal with anxiety and depression. More importantly, it will help you put your mind in a focused state to prepare for meditation and greater connection.

The word Vinyasa means the linking of movement in yoga asanas or poses with breath or prana. This style of yoga or breath synchronized movement technique is often considered Vinyasa Flow because of the smooth flow and rhythm as we move through asanas or poses. Often times playful and melodic music choreographs the deepening of postures and increased heart rate as we dance through the practice. Great cardio, strength building, lengthening of muscle tone and a balanced workout with depth is what you can expect in the style of Vinyasa Flow I teach. Vinyasa Yoga has allowed me to become more comfortable in my own skin and connect within. I hope the same exploration will be true for you.

Other Specialties: Body Temple Yoga

One of the greatest gifts I receive is in teaching yoga, breathwork and guided meditation to individuals addressing eating disorders, chemical dependency and pain management. The yoga style of class, guided meditation or both varies dependent upon the students but the result is consistently greater peace, a sense of personal triumph, increased awareness and comfort in ones body temple, grounding and an opening or expansion in true connection.

Prenatal – Mommy & Me Yoga

What an amazing gift pregnancy, childbirth and bringing a new life into the world is, why not celebrate all three? Yoga will deepen your bond and connection with yourself and your newborn during pregnancy and with your baby during their first year. Increased flexibility and strength, a meditation practice and control of breath are invaluable in the delivery room and the nursery.

Whether this is your first introduction to yoga or you’d like to bring variety to your practice, each session will be specially created to support your individual or individualized group success.
